One of my regular clients uses various talismans and amulets for gambling luck. She called me asking how she can hang on to her gambling luck on those times when luck seems to have flown away.

This is what I said:

“The reality is, gambling luck will come and go. Using amulets and talismans, and other magical methodologies will certainly bring you the edge over your fellow gamblers. But you have to recognize that gambling luck is ever a fickle friend; it will come and go as it pleases. Yes, you’ve got the edge with magic. But you still have to court gambling luck and treat it tenderly.

What’s more you have to keep alert to the subtle nuances. If your gambling luck seems to be deserting you one night, say at the poker table or at a casino, you should pull back or even stop. Just have a drink and enjoy the evening. When you return another night, your luck will very likely be with you again.

The bottom line is: Even when you gain the edge with magic, it is still crucial that you only play when you feel the lucky streak is on you, and stop when you feel your luck has flown.

It’s all about playing your luck. Recognizing when it is there, and when it isn’t. That way you will make a profit when playing games of chance.”
