Just got an email from someone called Jane asking if voodoo conjure can make your wishes come true. The best way to answer that is to say, yes, it often can… but only IF your wish is firmly set in the furnace of your desire.

Casual wishes or yearnings rarely come true. This is because you have to embed your wish inside your deeper subconscious for it to work. The subconsciousness mind is the powerhouse within – a place of magic and dreaming where the self-created rules of the everyday world, or left-brain reality, don’t apply.

There are many ways to do this. You can visualize your wishes on a daily basis, run affirmations and mantras, or use what I call “art conjure” to embed them in your subconscious mind.

My voodoo sigils are an example of art conjure. They work this way: I enter a mild dream-like trance. Then, using pen and ink on art paper, I draw symbols from “unknown tongues,” which is the language of the spirits and the subconscious mind. These symbols – or “wish papers” – deliver your wish to the ether, where the process of manifesting it in reality will begin.

A couple of years back, a woman in her fifties, who I’ll call Jenny, consulted me. She said all she’d ever known throughout her life was bad luck. It had dogged her through school, work, relationships, marriage and friendships.

Everything she ever touched seemed to turn to lead, not gold – or even to a modest silver.

In school she’d been mercilessly bullied. “Although I say it myself, I’ve always been pretty, and that’s what I was bullied for,” she told me. “Then when I was older and went out to work, I just couldn’t hold a job down. I kept getting fired. Yet I was a hard worker and I took care not to upset anyone. I truly believe I had a powerful curse laid on me from a young age, most likely by one of my mother’s sisters, who were always very jealous of her and her kids.”

Jenny sent me pictures of herself from 18 to the present. And I can vouch for the fact that she has always been attractive, right up to the present. Her personality is warm and caring too. Yet people seemed to see her as a kind of vermin fit only for being picked on and used.

She thought her luck had changed when she met the man of her dreams. He treated her well and was very romantic and loving towards her. He was also always buying her things.

…until they got married.

After the honeymoon, he turned into a monster, beating Jenny on a regular basis and psychologically tormenting her. He even forced her to have children. She was happy having two, or even three. But he insisted she have more and more, until eventually they’d got eight children. Even then, he demanded she have more.

That was when she left him – taking the children with her, all of whom she truly loved.

Subsequent relationships followed a similar pattern. They looked perfect, almost idyllic, at first, then deteriorated when the relationship became committed.

There were many other terrible incidents, but I’m sure you get the picture of what her life was like.

When she came to me, Jenny was in the depths of despair. And I have to admit, I didn’t know what to do. The bad luck seemed all pervasive. And the spirit card readings I did backed up her contention that she had been cursed from a young age.

Could the curse be broken? I simply didn’t know…

After another line or two of bad luck city blues, Joey asked me if a voodoo candle spell could turn his luck around.

“Yeah,” I said, “voodoo candle spells are a good way to find your focus and get bad luck on the run.”

I explained that the mere act of concentrating on a dancing candle flame will put you in touch with your subconscious mind, which is the seething cauldron of voodoo conjure within.

As you stare at the flame you go into a mild trance. This is the time to visualize what you want to achieve with your conjure work. Shut down (or quiet) the interior dialog and focus on your desire. If you do this right, and strongly enough, what you desire is more likely to come to pass.

He clutched his pen and ink voodoo sigil, the one I’d given him five months previously. “It’s my fire sigil,” he whispered to himself. “It took me ‘cross many lands, now at long last it will put me together with my one true love…”

It all began when Zolan (not his real name) came to me after his girl left him, disappeared without a word. This was in London. The truth was they were running from a crystal meth bust. But don’t think badly of them. They were good people, had real heart. It’s just circumstance and burning poverty that led them into the world of the street and drugs.

The bottom line is, not many of us are born silver-spooned. We do what we have to do.

Zolan told me his story. How his girl had thin-aired without warning. He desperately wanted her back. He loved her beyond anything.

To be honest, I held out very little hope. But I fixed him up with one of my pen and ink voodoo sigils, in conjunction with a Spirit Bottle working. I felt I had to do something, if only to ease Zolan’s despair. I created the sigil with real love – I’d actually known both Zolan and his girl for some time, I’d seen first hand how two good people had fallen into a living hell, and I naturally felt for them both.

Once I’d drawn and charged the voodoo sigil, I told Zolan it was his fire sigil. “It holds the fire of love and it will burn until you and your girl are reunited.”

He said he would go to the ends of the earth to find his girl. He did too. That’s how he ended up in North Africa. He’d followed one lead after another and eventually found himself hot on her trail.

The upshot was Zolan found his girl in  a cafe in Algiers. They fell into each other arms in tears, but overjoyed. She’d fled the UK to evade the cops and some very bad people who had said Zolan would “suffer” if she didn’t disappear from Britain. I can’t go into too much detail – for obvious reasons.

Zolan and his girl still have to sort their lives out. But they’re happy and together. They’re in another country now and you somehow know that love will win through and things will sort themselves out.

These strange, other-worldly symbols deliver the wish to the subconscious mind, which can then set about manifesting the wish in reality.

She’d got her heart set on a guy called Dave. She wanted to turn a casual relationship into a serious one.

“What are your most powerful voodoo love spells?” she asked. “I want total commitment from Dave and in the long term I want us to be married.”

With such a tall order, there was nothing for it but to delve into my conjure doctor’s bag and root out my most powerful voodoo love spells.

What I came up with was my Starfire Love Seal ritual, which is a shudderingly powerful voodoo love spell. It involves making a voodoo doll representing Erzulie, the goddess of love in voodoo. Also part of the ritual is the composition of a parchment letter to Erzulie, which also has sigils from “unknown tongues,” the language of the spirits.

“Star Fire” refers to an alchemical substance – channeled via the etheric plane – which was first utilized long ago by conjure doctors to infuse their workings with tremendous power. In this case, Starfire is harnessed to bring commitment, lasting love, and sexual passion from the person most special to you. It also binds them to you.

This is how I performed the Star Fire love spell for Charlotte:

I went to a place of power not far from me. There I called upon Erzulie, imploring her to grant Charlotte’s wish. This was easily within the deity’s power. But she has to be coaxed and cajoled. Hence a parchment letter has to be written to her during the ritual.

Once the ritual work was done, I sent the voodoo doll, parchment letter and a number of other items over to Charlotte, with instructions on how she could personalize and add power to the rite.

Charlotte tells me things are starting to get serious with Dave. “I didn’t expect the spell to work this fast,” she told me. “There’s still a way to go before the subject of marriage is likely to be raised. But things are definitely moving in the right direction. And for once in his life, Dave is showing real commitment.”
