This evening I got to thinking about how, before the internet, TV and radio, books would have transported you into the realm of the imaginal – in a profound and powerful way.
But now, we’ve all but lost the ability to read evocative books, particularly things like prose poetry or poetry itself – such as Lord Byron’s “Childe Harold” to cite one example. This is due to the internet with its dazzling images and bite-sized everything. The magic of books is all but dead… will it be reborn?
