Dr. Snake’s Voodoo Spellbook was first published over ten years ago. Within months of hitting the streets, the book became a cult bestseller.
Back then there was nothing out there that clearly set out voodoo and hoodoo in an accessible and usable way. You either had dodgy pamphlets, which were poorly produced and which had been endlessly reprinted from the 1930s or academic books…none told you how to do it.
The Voodoo Spellbook was hip, sassy, and rock and roll. Dr. Snake is rightly proud of the interest in voodoo and hoodoo it generated.
Richly illustrated, Dr. Snake’s Voodoo Spellbook was published by St Martin’s Press in the U.S. and by Connections in the UK. Read more at the Amazon.com listing.
The book is now out of print. But Dr. Snake is adamant he won’t reissue it or even write any new books. He says:
“No more books and no new editions. No amount of persuasion will make me change my mind. Ain’t gonna write another word. Never again will I put pen to paper. Ya see, a red moon is risin’ and there’s nothin’ I can do. The stars are unstable in the obsidian waste…”
