Back in the 1980s, my voodoo mentor Earl Marlowe was telling me about luck numbers. We were drinking coffee in a cafe in the Kings Cross area of London. This is part of what he said:

“Luck numbers ain’t the same as lucky numbers. Don’t confuse the two. Seven is a lucky number to conjure or hoodoo by. Nine is better. Three is also a good number. Five is better, though. Four times four is the great number. Neither the Devil, nor his wife, can refuse to help you in working a charm with that number written into it. Ten is an unlucky number. Don’t never go near it.”
