Over the years I’ve used magic to change the weather. Back in the day, if rain looked set in and the plan was to have a day out with my young kids, I’d concentrate my mind on the skies to dissipate the rain clouds. So long as I had absolute belief in what I was doing – total certainty – it worked.

Sometimes I’d call up the Rain God. Visualise him and make a deal with him to remove the clouds. I typically didn’t use formal gods. I’d make them up in my imagination – freeform magic. Creating belief, using it, discarding when done. Long ago in old Europe, shamans had specific roles and one of those was weather magic…
